A warm and cool evening near Picnic Rocks

Stream of Color

A few weeks ago, just after the snow melted, a small stream near Picnic Rocks in Marquette, MI had created large sandy walls on either side of the stream. The weather was quite chilly yet, so not many people had been down to walk through the area. Footprints for the first time were a rarity. Making it much easier to compose in a meaningful way without worrying about annoying distractions coming into the frame. The stream was also flowing much better from the recent melt. To top it all off, I was presented a fantastic sunset to work with. I hope you enjoy these two very different photographs of the same area on the same night.
