This stunning Red Pine plantation can be found near Esch Road Beach of the Sleeping Bear Dunes NLS. I used some branches covered with pine needles from just one tree to frame the piece and create a stark symmetrical effect. The lighting was perfect. The background gradually transitioned to darkness through soft shadows, while the foreground had just enough detail lighting to make the first few trees complete a nice three-dimensional feeling.
This photograph is another focus stack, I used three exposures focused in different zones of focus and combined them for complete depth of field and to avoid diffraction.
Canon 6D, Canon 24-105L (@65mm), ISO 100, F/8, 1/5th of a second for all three exposures.
